A comprehensive martial art practice that includes:

  • - emphasis upon middle staff (jung bong or jo)
     
  • - aikido/juijitsu controlling techniques
     
  • - kumdo/shin-kendo sword techniques
     
  • - tai chi
     
  • - meditation/relaxation.
     

Emphasis is placed upon calmness, fluidity and forgiveness of opponents. Physical strength, flexibility and aerobic training are not emphasized.

Mr. Kinseth began training with Master Heintz in 1983 and has taught taekwondo at various branches and at the Hub. He has over 45 years experience in a variety of martial arts, with particular emphasis upon taekwondo, kumdo and jodo.

Martial Spirit class is offered at the hub location each Saturday from 9:30-11:00 AM.

Emphasis is placed upon calmness, fluidity and forgiveness of opponents. Physical strength, flexibility and aerobic training are not emphasized. KUMDO / KENDO The Korean Art of Fencing (Kum do in Korean; Ken do in Japanese means "The way of the sword") Training offered by the Des Moines Kum Do Kwan Kumdo is a very disciplined art which requires physical conditioning. It develops the capacity to concentrate attention and react quickly.
